BAFTA presents in association with Kinofilm - Tristan Oliver Masterclass

 

Kinofilm will host an intensive cinematography masterclass with Tristan Oliver, who has worked on BAFTA winning and Academy Award© nominated films such as Fantastic Mr Fox. Tristan will discuss his recent work as a cinematographer, focusing on unique problems he encountered when filming Fantastic Mr Fox and looking into some of the challenges he faced when shooting Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were Rabbit. The session will close with a Q + A session and a chance to see some footage from his current project: Gorillas' Plastic Beach. This event is aimed at those with some filmmaking experience.

Introduction to Animation

Joe is an animator and cinematographer who has worked on various animation series - from the 1980s classic Wind in the Willows to Bob the Builder. In this masterclass Joe will offer a practical introduction to animation, exploring techniques he has used during his career and giving participants to opportunity to experiment with various methods.

Tristan will discuss the making of several films, looking at his process from initial storyboards and designs through to the finished product. This session will look into the techniques and practices Tristan uses on-set  and will offer those attending an insight into working in animation, and life as a cinematographer.
